High expectations on the result. Mushroom cultivation training

On March 5 and 6, the Mushroom cultivation training and its follow up have been commenced at the villages of Battambang Province, northwest of the Kingdom of Cambodia where Good Earth Japan (GEJ) extend the support together with Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery (PDAFF) of Battambang Province to farmers who live on the post landmine field for them to become independent.
2 villages have received the training newly and other 3 villages were provided the follow up training this year. The Mushroom cultivation training is in favor by the farmers as it can get the product sooner than the products by other training like rice cultivation, corn cultivation and cassava cultivation, and can consume it at home and/or sell it at the market for getting the petty cash.
In addition, as there is a success story by Mushroom cultivation by a same farmer Mr. Kok Tra who is in the area and had received the same training before, farmers are very interested in to the training. (Please refer to the article of “A busy day for Mr. Kok Tra” dated May 24, 2018. )
Farmers have gathered at their village meeting place and/or in the shadow of tree individually, and have been lectured for the training process and method from now on, reviewed the last year’s training, and had questions and answers. Especially, farmers were instructed to secure the rice straw which is essential for Mushroom cultivation.
Farmers were keen on listening the explanation and also taking note with a high expectation for the result of the training.
